In The name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

I heard this somewhere…

“We are just souls in a casing made of clay. To call ourselves human would make us have the attribute of ungratefulness and argumentative-ness”

I’m not sure about the second part but here, I want to talk about the first part.

I was just thinking…

We are just souls, in this casing which is a rental vehicle. There are three drivers: your nafs (lower self), shaithaan and your soul. What happens to most of us, especially me, is that shaithaan has managed to convince the nafs to work with him to overthrow your soul, snatching the wheel from  it. So as your soul becomes weaker, they become stronger. These two are bad reckless and lazy drivers. They hate their vehicle to stay on the straight safe but long path. They prefer a reckless journey through the dirt path, the short cut, and in the end, come crashing into a big boulder and thus they did not reach their destination in full health. The soul on the other end has Allah helping it to get back the wheel, but only if the soul wants to be helped, only if it hates being conquered, only if it push away the blinds the two partners in evil put over its eyes and see the truth: that they two are very very very easy to overthrow with Allah’s Help. The soul is a good law abiding driver that stays firm on the straight path no matter what happens as it is scared of getting fined or hurting others or disappointing the owner of itself and also its vehicle . It looks at the road as a means to reach its destination, not as a place to settle down at the road side and build a house there.

There is this hadith..

Narrated by Abu Umamah Al-Bahili r.a, Rasulullah (PBUH) said (or like what he said):

“Good actions protect from attacks from evil”

(Tirmizi and Ahmad)

The commentary of this hadith by Dr. Zahazan Mohamed is thatIf we do goo deeds and actions that is taken from the sunnah of The Prophet PBUH, thus we have shut the door of our souls from evil…

-101 rekreasi hati (101 recreation of the heart)

`Abdullah bin `Umar said, “Allah’s Apostle took hold of my shoulder and said, ‘Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler.” The sub-narrator added: Ibn `Umar used to say, “If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death.”

So, our soul will slam the door of the vehicle in shaithaan and the nafs ‘s faces if it gains Allah’s help with sincerity, piety, love and good deeds.

Do we want to be a successful driver succeeding in reaching its destination safe, sound and healthy. Or do we want to be a bad reckless driver failing badly in his journey to his final destination…

May Allah Almighty make us great successful drivers of this rental vehicle we call “body”.

All praise to The Almighty in giving me this idea and the time to post these ideas in the form of posts to spread Islam to all..
